Hi folks,

This is my next blog on simple repairs to fix very important things at home instead of calling and waiting for a repair guy and avoiding the extra charges.

This blog information is mainly for the residents in India.

As its a summer time and people get their old stacked local made coolers out to get them back in action.

You plug the cord and switch it on..booom.. the fan is working fine but it give a hot air because the water motor is damaged and need a new water pumping motor to be replaced. So you probably look out for a repair guy to get this job done for you. The work will be done but at the cost of some avoidable expenditure. First of all the motor will cost about 150.00  rupees, next the repair guy will charge an extra 200 or 250 as service charges, along with that he will pluck off all the mesh coil saying that is has been old and is of no use. That cost another 300 to 350 rupees. So, on a total there is a total amount of nearly 600 rupees extra that can be saved.

So in order to avoid this, its a simple fix that you perform and can fix the water motor by yourself and for this you don't need to be an electrician or an engineer.

Here is the procedure. The new water motor will have a wire that need to be attached to the wire that is already been given in the Cooler to which the old motor is attached.

1.Open the back cover by removing the screw to the cooler with the help of a screw driver.

2.Remove the old damaged motor and make sure the wires are not cut anywhere in from inside the cooler.

3.Now take the new motor and there will be 2 wires that are coming from a single cord, remove the rubber binding of the two wires and bind the copper wires individually.

4.Now add or join one wire from the water motor cord and one wire from the internal Cooler cord and bind then and roll over it a duct tape or a cello tape to avoid any electric hazards. Do the same for the other wire from Water Motor and the wire from Cooler and bind them well and cover it with rolling a duct tape or a cello tape. Make sure there are no copper wires that are coming out and with the help of the tape, fix the loosely hanging wires inside the cooler with the tape.

5.Now cover the cooler back side and put the screw back on to the Cooler and tighten it up with the help of the screw driver. Now plug the cooler cord and switch it on and Congratulations you just saved some rupees..yayyyyy.... it will work fine.

Tip on the Blog: Do not cut the cooler wire or the water motor wires short, the longer the better. Make sure the water motor is completely inserted inside the water for the water to pump on the cooling sides of the cooler  properly and the water motor to live longer life or else the motor will only pump air and its gets heated and will be damaged again.

Hope this bolg help the people to fix the summer cooler problems.
